Hamas condemns Israeli drone strike on flour-carrying civilian

Hamas condemned an Israeli drone strike that killed a civilian carrying flour in Gaza. The group urged international action amid mounting malnutrition deaths and ongoing attacks.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has strongly condemned the Israeli army for targeting a civilian carrying a sack of flour in Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood, describing the attack as “sadistic and brutal.”

In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas said that the footage aired by Al Jazeera shows a chilling example of the daily crimes committed by Israeli forces, who they claim systematically target hungry Palestinians amid a blockade and widespread starvation enforced by Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government.

The group further stated that the drone strike reveals the actions of “a criminal army devoid of ethics and humanity,” with no respect for law or human dignity.

Hamas also accused Israeli occupation forces of consistently killing Palestinian civilians—including children, women, and the elderly—since the founding of Israel in 1948, alleging longstanding and severe violations of human rights.

The statement emphasized that the continuous targeting of starving civilians and repeated massacres demand urgent intervention from the international community, including legal action against Israeli leaders.

Local officials reported on Saturday that at least 66 Palestinian children have died from severe malnutrition in Gaza since October 2023, highlighting the deteriorating humanitarian situation amid the Israeli blockade.

The deaths—most recently including three infants—underscore the devastating impact of Israel’s ongoing war that began on October 7, 2023, and continues to restrict aid and fuel access.

Since the start of the offensive, Gaza’s health ministry has recorded at least 56,500 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children, with over 133,400 more wounded.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.

In addition, Israel is facing a separate genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its military campaign in Gaza.
